While ESG is becoming a major concern for investors, the societal and environmental impact of Tech is a blind spot in ESG frameworks.
With the help of our partners, the Human Technology Foundation mapped existing tools and identified an incomplete treatment of the impacts specific to Tech. Based on this observation, we have co-constructed a framework to address this blind spot that is detrimental to investors.
The objective of this framework is to help evaluate the societal and environmental impact of Tech via a methodology, KPIs and resources, including a simple evaluation tool.
Our report aims to clarify the missing elements of ESG tools regarding the specificities of technology projects and their contributions, risks and impacts. It also describes the structure and method we have designed as well as the first feedback from users of our tool, which was specifically developed so that our methodology can be easily integrated into investors' practices.
